One of the things that makes Mercantile special isn’t just what we do, it’s how we do it. Open communication, shared purpose, and a willingness to listen have long been part of our culture. That commitment was on full display during our 2026 Roadshow, a series of in person meetings taking place across our statewide footprint.
Ray Reitsma, President & CEO; Scott Setlock, COO; Tara Randall, Chief Experience Officer; and Mark Augustyn, Chief Commercial Banking Officer shared their insights about the year ahead. Where we are, where we’re going, and how we get there together. Over the course of five days, the leadership team traveled nearly 1,200 miles, stopping at 12 locations across the state to meet with teams in person, in their local markets. These sessions went beyond prepared remarks, with leaders answering questions on the spot and engaging in open, candid dialogue, a true testament to a culture where employees feel empowered, heard, and genuinely valued. And to add to the fun, 58 dozen sugar cookies also made the trip around the state!
Topics touched on the continued growth of our organization, which includes operational evolution, employee development, technology investments, risk awareness, and long term strategy. Mercantile’s leadership is intentional about change, thoughtful about growth, and committed to doing what’s best for our customers, communities, and our people. Team members were encouraged to take advantage of the unique opportunities that come with working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Whether through learning new skills, exploring emerging technologies, or simply asking questions and seeking understanding, the message was empowering. Growth is not just something the bank pursues, it’s something individuals can pursue, too. And as our organization moves forward, so do our teams across the state.
