Throughout the month of May, members of Mercantile Young Professionals (MYP) stepped out of the office and into their communities, volunteering their time with organizations across the state. From Grand Rapids to Detroit, Lansing to Northern Michigan, it was a month centered on showing up, pitching in, and making a difference.
Founded in 2021, MYP brings early-career employees together through opportunities that blend professional growth with community involvement. The group regularly hosts volunteer events, training sessions, guest speakers, and team-building activities, all designed to help employees build connections while staying engaged in our communities.
This month’s efforts focused on supporting local food banks and outreach organizations across the state:
Each event brought a unique experience, but the goal was the same: lend a hand where it’s needed. And of course, our team had fun! Sharing laughs, stories, and a sense of belonging that follows them back to the office on Monday.
Take a look at a few moments captured throughout the month in the photos below. Thank you to our MYP team for investing in the people and places that make Michigan such a great place for us all to call home!
