Building What Comes Next

WMCI is preparing the next generation of construction professionals through training and community.

West Michigan Construction Institute (WMCI) was founded with a clear vision and simple but important goal, provide a place where people could learn by doing, discover the opportunities that exist within the skilled trades, and continue growing throughout their careers.

Today, that vision comes to life every day inside WMCI's state-of-the-art facility. Students train in hands-on labs guided by experienced instructors who bring real-world knowledge into the classroom. For many students, what they learn one day can be applied on a jobsite the very next.

But WMCI offers more than technical training. Students say it’s a family, one where instructors, staff, and classmates support each other and celebrate success together.

“West Michigan needs a construction trade school, and that’s what brought us to where we are today.”

- Jen Schottke, President

WMCI serves learners at every stage, from high school students discovering career opportunities, to individuals launching a career in the trades, and experienced professionals working toward advancement. With job placement assistance, nationally recognized certifications, and ongoing career support, WMCI helps students take the next step with confidence.

The impact reaches far beyond the classroom. Every student that develops new skills, earns a certification, or starts a new career helps strengthen the construction industry and the communities it serves. Together, WMCI and its graduates are helping build homes, businesses, and communities across West Michigan and throughout the country. We're proud to be the bank investing in what comes next.
